National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center

Several physicians at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), who are faculty members at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, have been named as a 'Top Doctor' by U.S. News & World Report. Each year, U.S. News & World Report releases an annual list of the nation's top physicians in conjunction with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., which publishes America's Top Doctors. Based on peer nominations, attributes such as clinical skills, training, achievements and other criteria are reviewed and assessed by a physician-led research team. Database enhancements developed at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey are helping physicians use technology to further ensure safety in the delivery of chemotherapy. Known as the Cancer Treatment Regimen Library, this new tool houses more than 400 standard care regimens for more than 100 different cancer categories. It enables clinicians to ensure appropriate treatment doses for patients based on the recommended standard of care and cross-checked against a patient's medical record.Read more

During this National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a number of entities generously lend their support to CINJ in an effort to help educate the community about breast cancer. On October 4th, New Jersey Bloomingdale's stores will be offering a day of fashion and fun, including a fashion show, cosmetics master class, and cooking demonstration at select stores. Ten percent of the receipts turned in that day will be donated to the CINJ Foundation. Select Panera Bread Cafés are once again offering their signature Pink Ribbon Bagel during the entire month, with ten cents from the sale of each treat coming to CINJ. On October 10th, 100 percent of Pink Ribbon Bagel proceeds will be given to CINJ. And BJ's Wholesale Club in Edison is supporting CINJ once again with a free "Pink Picnic" for the public on October 10th. Proceeds from all of these events will support breast cancer programs at CINJ.
