$1.5M Gift Helps to Establish Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

Embrace Kids

A $1.5 million gift from the Embrace Kids Foundation has been given to establish the Embrace Kids Foundation Endowed Chair in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The pledge will support the recruitment of an outstanding academic leader and help propel research efforts in pediatric hematology/oncology, including a pediatric focus in precision medicine.Learn more

$1.8M Grant Enables Exploration of Protein in Lung Cancer Development



A $1.8 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey researcher Sharon R. Pine, PhD, will support the exploration of a protein associated with poor survival in lung cancer. Dr. Pine, who is also an assistant professor of medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, will lead the work, which will focus on lung cancer development and metastasis.Learn more

Patient Support Services

From diagnosis, through treatment, and into recovery, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey provides support services for cancer patients and their families. In addition to help dealing with issues such as managing stress, coping with the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis, dealing with treatment and its side effects, and adjusting to the many changes in a patient's life, the center also offers a variety of educational and interactive programs and classes to further support patients and their caregivers.
