National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center

In what is believed to be the first study to describe the impact on men with a 'high' risk of bone fracture who are receiving long-term androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer, research from The Cancer Institute of New Jersey shows this population to have a higher incidence of fracture following completion of treatment. For the second consecutive year, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Breast Cancer Alliance for its Breast Surgery Fellowship. The grant is for academic year 2013-2014. The one-year program provides surgeons with advanced training that prepares them to provide comprehensive care specifically for patients with breast disease.Learn more

The Cancer Institute of New Jersey's Office of Community Outreach is recruiting volunteers to deliver a cancer awareness and prevention curriculum to pre-teens and teens in the greater New Brunswick area. The Cancer Awareness Youth Educator Badge Program aims to educate more than 600 children about the dangers of tobacco use and excess sun exposure and how they can reduce their cancer risk.Learn more

Helping to make a positive impact in the fight against cancer, Allstate New Jersey Insurance Company has raised $50,000 through its annual 'Quotes for a Cure' campaign to benefit The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
