I am a board certified clinical neuropsychologist and Director of Neuropsychology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. I hold joint appointments in the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Departments of Medicine and Neurology. Prior to joining the Rutgers Cancer Institute, I was a Senior Neuropsychologist at the Henry Ford Health System in Michigan and before that I spent several years at the JFK Medical Center in Edison where I helped coordinate the diagnostic neuropsychology service.
I completed my doctoral degree in psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. My clinical education also included a Neuropsychology Internship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where I received clinical and didactic training in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of acquired and degenerative neurological disorders. Subsequently I completed a neuropsychology residency/fellowship at the JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute’s Center for Head Injuries where I expanded on my diagnostic knowledge and further developed competencies in team based comprehensive neurorehabilitative therapies.
I continue to maintain a strong interest in clinical research and have recently been working collaboratively to develop and validate virtual reality based systems for a single point delivery of neurorehabilitation therapy. I also have interests in epilepsy surgery outcomes as well as applying neuro-rehabilitation principles to the treatment of individuals with neurodegenerative disorders. I have also been actively involved in the training of residents and fellows in neuropsychology, psychiatry and neurology.
Over the course of my career I have worked closely with neurologists, psychiatrist, oncologist and other medical professionals in providing comprehensive care to individuals experiencing changes in cognition. My treatment philosophy emphasizes a comprehensive integrative approach to diagnosis and management of brain-based disorders, which fits well with the culture of integrative medicine at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
I hope to draw from my experiencing working with varied medical professionals across distinct geographical regions to expand and integrate the Neuropsychology Service within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to maximize patient care and overall quality of life for my patients.
