The cancer program at this teaching community hospital includes board certified physicians, certified oncology nurses with extensive experience and training, therapists, nutritionists and other healthcare professionals.
University Medical Center at Princeton is helping to define new standards for diagnosing, treating and fighting cancer as a Clinical Research Affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ). Through this affiliation, UMCP provides patients with access to major drug trials and treatment protocols, in addition to the latest methods of prevention and diagnosis.
University Medical Center at Princeton also is accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer—a designation achieved by only one in four hospitals nationwide—and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology for detecting and treating cancer, including the use of computer technology to blend together images from multiple sources, such as PET, MRI and CT scans, to enable radiation treatments to be more precisely targeted so as to destroy cancer cells with less impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
UMCP’s facilities include a designated inpatient oncology unit; outpatient infusion services in comfortable, relaxed surroundings; and the J. Seward Johnson Sr. Radiation Oncology Center.
