  • Wenwei Hu, PhD, received a three-year grant from DOD, BCRP Breakthrough Award to study the molecular signaling of chronic stress in promoting breast cancer development. The aim of this study is to provide insights into the increased breast cancer risk due to chronic stress and provide foundation that helps guide the design of new strategies to prevent breast cancer promoted by chronic stress. (Grant started August 2016)
     
  • Yuhan Zhao, a third year PhD graduate student, has been selected as one of three recipients of the 2016-2017 Shatkin scholarship. The award was presented October 18, 2016.   
     
  • A recent publication in collaboration with Dr. Zhaohui Feng’s group:

    Zhang C, Liu J, Huang G, Zhao Y, Yue X, Wu H, Li J, Zhu J, Shen Z, Haffty BG, Hu W, Feng Z. Cullin3-KLHL25 ubiquitin ligase targets ACLY for degradation to inhibit lipid synthesis and tumor progression. Genes Dev. 2016 Sep 1;30(17):1956-70.
