Research Interests

  • DNA damage repair via homologous recombination (HRR), and roles of this pathway in genomic stability/tumor suppression
  • Molecular mechanisms by which BRCA2 and RAD51 family proteins function in HRR
  • Exploiting new knowledge about HRR to develop techniques for high-efficiency gene targeting in human cells to enable facile genetic analysis that is currently possible only in bacteria and yeast and holds great promise for therapeutic intervention in genetic disease.
