Subhajyoti De, PhD

Doctor Subhajyoti De Dr. Subhajyoti De is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers University, and is affiliated with the Genome Instability and Cancer Genetics Program. His research program integrates genomics, computational biology, and cancer biology to uncover fundamental principles governing the evolution and dynamics of the tumor microenvironment, with the long-term goal of translating these insights into improved precision medicine.

Dr. De received his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, followed by a PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK, and postdoctoral training at the Harvard School of Public Health. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and holds multiple patents. He serves in advisory capacities on several national and regional scientific and professional bodies. He is also an Associate Editor for Nucleic Acids Research – Cancer, an Oxford University Press journal.

Dr. De is also committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists. His trainees—including PhD students, undergraduate researchers, and postdoctoral fellows—have received numerous competitive awards and honors. His research and scholarship have been recognized through several prestigious distinctions, including the Innovation Award in AI and Digital Health (2026), Chancellor Scholar in Basic Sciences Research Award (2024), and Young Alumni Achiever Award (2019), among others.
