Research Interests

  • Nanoparticle vaccine delivery: Design and development of antigen and immunomodulatory biochemical loaded nanoparticles
  • Encapsulated mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC): Alginate encapsulated MSC are used to reduce the inflammatory response and augment innate tissue regeneration
  • Genomics and metabolomics: Assessment of gene expression and metabolic network changes in various disease models
  • Building and revitalizing liver tissue and organs and developing new organ storage modalities
  • Using pulsed electric fields to promote scarless wound healing, skin rejuvenation, and skin disinfection
  • Developing automated robotic devices that overcome delays in blood testing and provide rapid point-of-care diagnoses
  • Developing new and innovative microscale cell and tissue devices that advance the medical research
