Research Program Alignment

  • Non-Programmatically Aligned

Membership Type: Associate - Academic Advisory

Research Interests

  • Nucleic acid synthetic chemistry, structure, and interactions
  • New methods for nucleoside and nucleic acid synthesis, both for DNA and RNA fragments
  • Synthetic approaches to nucleoside derivatives of biological importance and nucleosides containing stable isotopes such as 2H, 13C, or 15N, for incorporation into nucleic acids-these molecules probe the basis of the interrelation of sequence, specific structural features, and the stability and conformational properties of both DNA and RNA 15N
  • NMR to probe a variety of DNA and RNA interactions, including hydrogen bonding and stacking, the effects of metals on RNA.
