Mission
The mission of the GESR is to provide a centralized laboratory for the generation and preservation of mouse models and the creation of custom genome-edited cell lines.
Personnel
Derek B. Sant'Angelo, PhD, Harold L. Paz, Endowed Professor of Developmental Biology and Child Health Institute of NJ Associate Director of Basic Science, serves as GESR Director. Sant'Angelo has more than 20 years of experience generating and working with genetically modified mouse models. He consults with members to develop new services and complex research projects.
Yibin Kang, PhD, the Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis Professor of Molecular Biology at Princeton University (PU) and Associate Director for Consortium Research at Rutgers Cancer Institute, serves as Co-Director of GESR. Kang provides considerable expertise in using mouse models. He consults with PU members for the development of new services and complex research projects.
Peter Romanienko, PhD, has served as the GESR Managing Director since 2016. Under his management, the GESR has generated over 200 mouse models and introduced cell line gene editing.
