Why Choose Us for Your Cutaneous and Soft Tissue Cancer Care?
Leading Melanoma and Sarcoma Surgical Center
As the busiest melanoma and sarcoma surgical center in the state of New Jersey, our surgical oncologists offer a wide range operative and non-operative treatment options. We provide excisions of primary and recurrent cancers, sentinel lymph node biopsies and resection of metastatic recurrences for those patients that need them—often in conjunction with state-of-the-art clinical trials. Our surgeons routinely care for patients with a wide range of soft tissue sarcomas of the extremity, chest and back, large retroperitoneal sarcomas, as well as several patients per month with complex squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas that require extensive multidisciplinary care including immunotherapy and surgical options.
We are in the process of establishing a UV light therapy program for patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphomas and those with cutaneous manifestations of systemic therapy for cancer.
Personalized, Multidisciplinary Cancer Care
Experienced and well-versed in both operative and non-operative treatment options, we are proud to serve the population of New Jersey and adjacent regions. Our approach to patients is one of care, compassion, and kindness, as well as the expertise and resources that come with the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in New Jersey. In conjunction with a sarcoma specialized medical oncologist and radiation oncologist, we provide personalized care directed to each patient’s cancer with all new patients being presented at our biweekly multidisciplinary tumor board. We work closely with the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine for any patients needing complex reconstruction after resection of both cutaneous and soft tissue malignancies.
Active Participation in Clinical Trials
We actively participate in a variety of clinical trials, including surgical trials as well as trials investigating the use of immunotherapy before and after surgery for higher stage Melanoma patients. We have enrolled over seventy patients in an international Melanoma margins trial, one of the largest numbers in the country.
