Where is the library?
The Resource Room is located in room 2500 at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. We are on the second floor above the front entrance of the circular driveway.
When are you open?
Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What kinds of resources are available?
We have books and DVDs covering a wide range of cancer-related topics for children and adults, as well as free informational materials, some of which are available online. We also offer eBooks and audiobooks available for download straight to your computer or tablet. DVDs, DVD players, iPods, iPads, Nooks and Kindles are available for daily loan while at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The library is also equipped with three computers with internet access and a printer for your convenience.
Do you have a list of materials?
Who can check out library materials?
Patients and their family members. Simply come into the Resource Room and fill out a membership application.
How do I get them?
Once your account is created, you may check out materials from the library for two weeks. Your driver’s license is required when borrowing electronic devices as they are only available for daily use.
I’m receiving treatment and can’t get upstairs. Can someone deliver materials to me?
Yes! Simply call the Resource Room and we can bring them right down to your treatment room.
Do you accept book or DVD donations?
We do not accept books, but if you have DVDs you would like to donate, please speak to the library staff.
What other resources are available to me without having to visit the library?
Browse through our recommended websites that address many issues affecting cancer patients and their caregivers. Visit our YouTube channel for a variety of informational videos and join us on Facebook for recent updates. Don’t forget about the Health Library database for some great visual medical resources.
