About Me
I am a surgical oncologist at the Rutgers Cancer Institute and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. I’m honored to be part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality, comprehensive cancer care.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology and Community Health from Tufts University and completed medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I then trained in general surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in complex surgical oncology through a combined program at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Before joining Rutgers, I was on faculty at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where I cared for patients in a busy academic surgical oncology practice.
As Section Chief of Melanoma and Soft Tissue Sarcoma and Co-Director of the Melanoma/Cutaneous Oncology Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute, I work to ensure that patients have access to the most advanced treatments available, including clinical trials when appropriate.
I am committed to improving cancer care through research and innovation, with the goal of achieving better outcomes for patients. I understand that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming. I focus on listening carefully, explaining options clearly, and creating a thoughtful, personalized plan.
My goal is to provide the highest quality care for every patient. This includes using the most up-to-date treatments and surgical techniques, staying current with evolving research and clinical guidelines, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.
Equally important is delivering care that is truly patient-centered. I believe high-quality care starts with listening. I take the time to understand each patient’s concerns, values, and goals, so that we can make informed decisions together.
I am grateful to work alongside a highly skilled and dedicated care team, and I am continually inspired by the strength and resilience of my patients and their families. My commitment is to provide care that is not only effective, but also compassionate and supportive.
