About Me

I am excited to join Rutgers Cancer institute of New Jersey’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program following a clinical fellowship at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in New York and conducting research on immunotherapies at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

My interest in pediatric hematology/oncology began while I was in college and volunteering at a sleepaway camp for children with cancer, blood disorders, and other chronic diseases. I continued to volunteer at camp throughout my medical school and pediatrics residency, as well as my fellowship training and even today. This experience influences how I approach and treat my patients – always striving to improve their quality of life while undergoing treatment.

My expertise is in the areas of immunotherapy, blood disorders, hemoglobinopathies, and a variety of cancers that impact children, adolescents and young adults. I work closely with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide our patients with the latest and most advanced treatment options including clinical trials.

In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, I am investigating novel immunotherapies for cancer, which aim at turning back on the immune system to attack the cancer. Currently, I am evaluating the role that new immune targets play in pediatric cancers, specifically solid tumors of childhood. Along with this interest in immunotherapy, I am also focusing on developmental therapeutics and early phase clinical trials, to evaluate these exciting new treatments in children and young adults.

I am the author or co-author of several publications, reviews and book chapters and serve on several national and international committees to help train future generations of pediatric hematologists and oncologists. I have received the prestigious Leo M. Davidoff Society Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as well as the Chai Lifeline’s Camp Simcha Appreciation Award.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Brandeis University and obtained my medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a residency at Kravis Children’s Hospital at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. This was followed by a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Montefiore as well as a research fellowship in immunotherapy at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
