Subha V. Barry is President of Seramount.
Subha was SVP and Chief Diversity Officer at Freddie Mac, where she served on the firm's management committee and led their Foundation. During her 20+ years at Merrill Lynch, Subha was an MD and Global Head of D&I. She also created a highly successful Multicultural Business Development Group to focus their Wealth Management business on diverse and multicultural communities. She began her career at the firm as a Financial Advisor.
A former adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, Subha now serves on a number of boards aligned with her passions – education, cancer research and the advancement of women and girls.
Subha serves on the board of Rutgers University, where she co-chaired fund-raising for the Gloria Steinem Chair for Media, Culture and Feminist Studies and currently chairs the board of IWL – Institute for Women’s Leadership. She is Co-Chair of the Advisory Board of Rice360, an internationally recognized Global Health Technologies Program focused on eliminating neo-natal mortality rate disparities in Sub-Saharan Africa and a board member of Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business.
She served as Vice-Chair of the Penn Health at Princeton Hospital’s board of directors where she chaired the Human Resources Committee and served on the Compensation and Benefits Committee. Subha, past board chair of Rutgers Cancer Institute and has remained an active board member and continues to serve on the executive committee of the Director’s Leadership Council. She also serves on the Rutgers University Foundation’s Board of Overseers.
She is also on the advisory boards of Snowden Lane Partners, an independent wealth advisory firm and Whiterabbitai, an artificial intelligence MedTech company.
A native of India, Subha holds a BA from Bombay University and an MBA and MS in Accounting from Rice University. She has two grown children, Tara and Jay, and lives in New Hope, PA with her husband (of 32 years), Jim Barry and a trifecta of Yorkies – Willy, Sophie and Lucy.
