RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute Celebrate Opening of Demonstration Kitchen at the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center

Inaugural Demonstration and Special Event Held with Joy Bauer, Nutrition and Health Expert on NBC’s Today Show

New Brunswick, N.J., October 24, 2025 – Invited guests were recently treated to a special experience when Joy Bauer, Nutrition and Health Expert on NBC’s Today Show, led the inaugural cooking demonstration, officially marking the opening of the state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen at the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, the state’s only freestanding comprehensive cancer hospital.  Following the demonstration, guests participated in a fireside chat with Joy Bauer, Dr. Steven Libutti, William N. Hait Director of Rutgers Cancer Institute and Senior Vice President, Oncology Services, RWJBarnabas Health and Dr. Andrew Evens, Deputy Director of Clinical Services and Chief Physician Officer, Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center and Rutgers Cancer Institute.

The debut of the demonstration kitchen marks another important milestone in the opening of the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center by RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Located on the academic medical campus of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, this state-of-the-art 12-story facility spans 520,000 square feet. It offers both inpatient and outpatient cancer services, featuring innovative operating rooms, sophisticated radiation therapy, and full imaging capabilities. Additionally, the facility houses research laboratories, retail space, and ancillary services that are all dedicated to enhancing patient health and wellness. The demonstration kitchen serves as a working classroom and vital resource for patients undergoing treatment and recovery. The interactive and nutritional education allows patients to feel empowered and take control of their health and wellness.
