About Me

I am Professor of Surgery and the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. I received my medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine, before going on to complete my residency in General Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. I then went on to receive training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the John H. Stroger Hospital for Cook County in Chicago, Il. I have been in practice in New Jersey at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School since completing my fellowship in 2007. My clinical practice specializes in minimally invasive approaches, particularly Robotics, for colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and complex pelvic surgery. I am actively involved in surgical education and serve on the executive board for the Association for Surgical Education and the Association for Women Surgeons.
