Research Interests

• Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention and Control: Cancer epidemiologist, PI, Essex County Cancer Coalition and its successor regional chronic disease coalition for Essex and Passaic, Cancer Liaison Physician (now serving third consecutive term) for CINJ University Hospital, and vice-chair of the UH Cancer Committee, Had directed the initial statewide implementation of the NJ state cancer plan, and wrote & edited much of that plan
• Epidemiology Research: PI of the Weiss Cohort Studies, which include 10,066 drug users nationally (2,254 from NJ) enrolled in the 1980s, one current follow-up focus is cancer outcomes, with an initial focus upon hepatocellular carcinoma and lung cancers, Biospecimen repository from the Weiss Cohort Studies, Member, National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Genetics Consortium, New and continuing studies of drug users and their outcomes -including cancer and other chronic diseases.
