The mission of nursing leadership at Rutgers Cancer Institute, in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health, is to guide the innovation and delivery of the highest quality, evidence-based, holistic, and compassionate oncology nursing care to our patients and their caregivers and to influence the same throughout RWJBarnabas Health, the state, and the nation. Working collaboratively, RWJBarnabas Health oncology nurses and nurse leaders are committed to improving the well-being of individuals through the safe delivery of research-based expert oncology care to patients including the provision of innovative treatments and support through their cancer journey that recognizes and honors the whole person inclusive of survivorship. We are committed to providing education on cancer prevention and early detection to patients, caregivers, and the communities of New Jersey to reduce cancer incidence and mortality. Through these actions, we strive to elevate oncology nursing care to a premier level at our institutions and across the state, leaving a legacy of caring, commitment and accountability.
