New Brunswick, N.J.– Looking to surpass the $5,000 raised last year to support research, treatment, prevention, and education programs at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), Allstate New Jersey Insurance Company has kicked off its “Quotes for a Cure” program. Allstate’s goal this year is to raise $25,000 for CINJ. CINJ is New Jersey’s only Comprehensive Cancer Center as designated by the National Cancer Institute and is a Center of Excellence of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Now through December 1, 2010, Allstate New Jersey will donate $10 to the CINJ Foundation for every life or auto insurance quote requested (up to $20 per person and $25,000 total) through any of Allstate’s 240 New Jersey agents (www.allstateagencies.com).
“The fight against cancer truly needs to be waged as a collective effort, which is why we are extremely pleased to have Allstate New Jersey once again serve as a community partner in this battle,” said CINJ Foundation Executive Director Elia Desruisseaux. “Through this unique campaign, CINJ’s physician scientists will have the opportunity to further enhance their research, which ultimately will benefit patients and their families.”
“Each and every one of us has been touched by cancer—we’ve lost friends and family, and know courageous survivors,” said William P. Ballinger, President of Allstate New Jersey. “Through this program, we have the unique ability to have people learn about protecting their financial assets, while contributing to the fight against cancer. I am proud of this program and Allstate New Jersey’s continued commitment to its communities.”
