Comparing post-test genetic counseling with and without pre-test counseling: The evolving landscape for optimizing cancer care

Objectives:

The research seeks to observationally characterize the content, process, and outcomes (retention of key information, intention to inform at-risk relatives, efficacy for follow-up, the therapeutic relationship, satisfaction with communication quality, psychological health, and decisional regret) of HBOC post-test genetic counseling that is preceded by pre-test counseling versus when post-test counseling is the first point of care.
