Research Interests
- Exploring the function and mechanism of microbial defense pathways, such as CRISPRCas systems
- Engineering of CRISPR-Cas effectors as tools for sensitive and fast detection of cancer-associated RNAs, and for targeted killing of cancer cells
- We plan to approach this using a multidisciplinary approach using techniques such as biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, and molecular engineering
