"Every patient with cancer has their own “why" to live. That’s just human. Not every patient with cancer can bear the “how" to live without a collective and cohesive group dedicated to their "why.” I show up every day because patients have a continued need for help in achieving this basic, human desire. The best environment for a patient to achieve their personal “why” is one in which they feel welcome. Developing a diverse department has always been a personal goal so that we are as diverse as those we care for. Recruiting a diverse workforce will result in a better patient experience. I hope I am leading by example."
