I have long-standing experience in imaging modalities and the oncology setting. Since graduating from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, I received a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and then obtained an adult nurse practitioner certification. My oncology career has been spent working as an advanced practice nurse at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in the radiation oncology setting. After completing my NP degree, I completed doctorate training. I obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree focused on lymphedema in the radiotherapy breast cancer population from Jefferson University School of Nursing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
As a part of the multidisciplinary team, including radiation, medical, surgical oncologists, plastic surgeons, social workers, genetic counselors, and others, we have worked tirelessly to provide comprehensive and exceptional patient care in a safe working environment.
Since completing my nursing training, I have had a strong passion for women’s health, men’s health, palliative care, and clinical research. I have also pursued intravenous vascular care, lymph care, and survivorship care. My interest is to make sure each patient understands their care options and to help navigate them through the treatment process specifically tailored for them to make the most informed treatment decisions.
I have conducted nursing research and disseminate these findings to medical audiences in multiple venues state and national conferences, particularly on breast cancer and radiotherapy topics. In addition, I have obtained numerous certifications, authored many publications in peer-reviewed journals, and authored many book chapters.
With the growth in technology, the specialty of radiation oncology has changed tremendously, and I see the role of the nurse unfolding, requiring continuous education and skill advancements. I am committed to contributing toward the future of better professional issues in nursing and continuing to focus on evidence-based clinical practice in this unique oncology setting.
Our Advanced Practice Providers work in collaboration with the physicians in their respective oncology programs and may not always be scheduled directly.
