Clinical Investigations and Precision Therapeutics Research Program

Program Leaders: Shridar Ganesan, MD, PhD and Wadih Arap, MD, PhD

Overall Goals:

The Overall Goals of the Clinical Investigations and Precision Therapeutics (CIPT) Program are to 1) translate outstanding science across the Cancer Center into early phase trials, 2) develop novel diagnostic, prevention, and therapeutic strategies; and 3) promote bidirectional translation from bench to bedside and back. These goals are supported by close collaborations with the Cancer Metabolism and Immunology (CMI), Genome Instability and Cancer Genetics (GICG), and Cancer Pharmacology (CP) Programs. Translation of population science is done in collaboration with the Cancer Prevention and Control (CPC) Program.

Specific Aims:

  • Target metabolic, cell death and survival pathways in cancer.
  • Target DNA repair and cell cycle checkpoint abnormalities in cancer.
  • Target the immune microenvironment in cancer.
  • Investigate markers of response and resistance to cancer therapy.
