I am a fellowship trained endocrine surgeon in the Section of Endocrine Surgery at Rutgers Cancer Institute and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. I am also the Associate Director of Oncology Quality at Rutgers Cancer Institute. I treat benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands and have obtained a Designation of Focused Practice in Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery from the American Board of Surgery. My goal is to take a patient-centered approach to treating endocrine disorders with the best evidence-based practices, and provide patients with all of the available options to help them to make an informed decision about their care. I also have a special interest in ablative therapies for thyroid nodules including radiofrequency ablation.
I attended New York University and earned my medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where I was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. I then completed internship and residency at New York Presbyterian - Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in endocrine surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. I have a Masters of Science in Health Policy and Economics from Cornell University. I have published over 90 peer-reviewed articles, written several book chapters, and given multiple national and international presentations in the field of endocrine surgery. I am a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Thyroid Association, the Society of University Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the North American Society for Interventional Thyroidology. I am also the Associate Editor for Endocrine Surgery for the Journal of Surgical Research. My research focuses on healthcare disparities and access to care in patients with endocrine malignancies. I am a native of New Jersey and thrilled to be able to provide care to patients in my home state.
